Creative Synergies: Uniting Women and Dance in the Fight Against Gender Violence

In the fight against gender violence, art and creativity play a crucial role. The SILENCE project in Ontinyent, with the Unitat d’Igualtat of the Mancomunitat de Municipis de la Vall d’Albaida as the Spanish partner of the Erasmus project, has been coordinated by Paula García Gironés and involved the participation of women victims of violence and the young dancers from the dance group "Estudi de dansa La Crew" by Raquel Revert.

This coexistence has allowed for the sharing of personal stories and the creation of a strong emotional bond. The project has given a voice to women through the universal language of dance, transforming their experiences into expressive movements.

The women have worked closely with the dancers to transform their experiences into dance performances. This process has allowed for the powerful expression of painful situations, offering a new perspective on their stories.

The collaboration between the women and the dancers has led to the creation of a collective work of art. The participants have shared their own stories, which have then been interpreted by the dancers, creating a unique artistic dialogue between movement and emotion.

The project has involved young dancers, creating an intergenerational bridge. This interaction has emphasized the importance of educating the younger generations on the issues of gender violence and encouraging them to actively participate in the fight for social change.

The response from both the participating women and the dancers has been extremely positive. SILENCE has allowed the women to feel heard and valued, while the dancers have had the opportunity to give voice to important stories, increasing awareness of gender violence.
